A restore replaces data with an earlier copy. For a store or active mailbox, that may remove newer orders, messages or edits.
What to do
- Identify the domain, affected application and the approximate last known good time.
- Describe what should be restored: individual files, one database, email or an entire account.
- Ask JIJ which recoverable backups are available and confirm the effect on data created since that backup.
- Keep a current snapshot before replacing data where possible. Agree on the restore target and then test the recovered application.
Good to know
A restore is not a guaranteed way to clean a compromised site. Retention, availability and any recovery work charges must be confirmed for your service.
