For a static site, publish the generated HTML, CSS, JavaScript and public assets into the domain’s correct document root.

What to do

  1. Keep a local copy of the release and back up any existing live files.
  2. Open cPanel File Manager and the domain’s document root.
  3. Upload the public files or a prepared archive, then extract it only into the intended directory. Make sure the index file is not buried inside an extra parent folder.
  4. Test the site, asset paths and mobile layout. Remove any uploaded archive from the public root after keeping a private copy.

Good to know

Do not upload environment files, access tokens or private repositories. Database applications need additional configuration beyond copying public files.
