Website files, databases, mailboxes and locally stored backups all contribute to hosting usage. A site with little public content can still fill up through email or old archives.
What to do
- Open cPanel and review Disk Usage and the account statistics. Check Email Accounts for mailbox usage.
- Identify large backup archives, unused staging copies, caches and mail folders before removing anything. Download a copy of data you need to retain.
- Remove only data you understand and are authorized to delete; emptying mail or deleting a database can be irreversible.
- If usage is approaching your plan limit, contact JIJ before uploading a large archive or attempting a migration.
Good to know
A plan’s disk allowance is shared across its websites and mailboxes. Unlimited addon websites do not create extra storage.
